Globe Theatre Visit - 08.02.24

Published: 21/02/2024

Rain did not deter us from enjoying our tour of the Globe on 8 February, not least because the walk from Blackfriars station was so short. It was thrilling for people to step inside the theatre; our guide certainly knew his Shakespeare as he quoted often and gave us an understanding of how the actors worked and the plays were performed. Do you know how ‘box office’ got its name?  Click here for more information on Globe Theatre tours. See below photo of group inside.

We went our separate ways afterwards, mainly in groups, whether to Tate Modern, the British Museum, Southwark Cathedral and other Elizabethan sites nearby. There’s certainly no shortage of places of interest in London. Some of us met up on the return journey.  A great day out. Thank you, Jenny for organising this.
