Join us for this interesting visit to Bedford’s overlooked treasures

The museum contains artifacts of John Bunyan’s life and imprisonment in Bedford gaol.  There’s also a community art exhibition in Bunyan Meeting Church Gardens.jpgthe basement.  The 19th Century Meeting Church stands on the site of Bunyan’s original church.

Bunyan Meeting Church.jpg2pm - Meet in main museum lobby (see top image).  Depending on numbers, one or two groups to visit the museum and church, each tour being 30-40 minutes.  Finish with tea and cake, served in one of the Bunyan rooms. (Please advise if dairy free, vegan or gluten free.)

Cost:  £12 a head.  Booking taken at lectures in June (BACS payments only) and September. To register your interest, email  our secretary.

THURSDAY, 3 JULY 2025 - NBAS VISIT TO Buckden Towers AND KIMBOLTON CASTLE

This will be a fascinating day visiting two locations with a rich and varied history, both with a connection to Katharine of Aragon

Leaving Bedford by coach at 10am from the Kimbolton Road car park to Mowsbury Park.  Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before departure.

Buckden towers gardens.jpg10.30am - Morning tour of Buckden Towers with its attractive red-brick buildings and gardens, followed by included lunch.  1.30pm leave for Kimbolton.

 

Kimbolton Castle.png2pm - Afternoon tour of Kimbolton Castle  which has evolved into an elegant country house.  Andrew Bamford, Castle Historian will take us on a tour of the castle, ending with tea/coffee/biscuits.  Departing at 4pm.

 

Cost:  £45 (Included:  coach, tour of both properties and lunch)

Please note:  There will be steps and uneven ground at both locations.
